Computing

At Greenhill, Computing teaches an understanding of the use and manipulation of digital devices and services that children will come across in their lives. It will teach them to be responsible digital citizens and how to behave online. Through their work in Computing, children learn about networks and hardware, they learn how to create pictures, sounds and videos and use these to inform and entertain. They learn how data is manipulated and presented online and in real life. They use programs and to control devices and software and gain experience on different devices and operating systems. Computing teaching also motivates children to explore the digital world safely and enables them to recognise the importance of using technology to enhance their lives and experience.

To teach Computing, we use the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) 'Teach Computing' currculum, with activities adapted for our learners which fits the scheme into the 'Greenhill Thread'
